DescriptionThe front ashtray is lit when the side lights are on; it houses a standard power point; the ring round the power point is lit with the side lights on. The cigar lighter resistor is located in the socket, but it can be used for connection to other instruments or equipment (provided they operate at 12 V).To operate the cigar lighter, simply press the knob: after a few seconds it pops out automatically, ready for use.The socket has a heat protection device: if devices with high energy absorption are connected, this protection cuts off the supply. The current socket circuit is protected by a special fuse and is operated by the relay which is excluded when the ignition is switched on and is located in the junction unit.The power socket operates when the ignition is on (INT/A).
Functional description The current socket/cigar lighter P50 is supplied by the line controlled by the ignition (INT/A) of relay T12 protected by fuse F44, both contained in the unit under the dashboard B2 . The lighting up of the cigar lighter P50 with side lights on is controlled by the Body Computer M1 - pin 18 of connector C.
