DescriptionThe vehicle is also available, on request,prepared for the installation of a cellular telephone.This preparation consists of:a special aerial, in the rear part of the roof;a hands-free speaker, located in the passenger door. 767a microphone to complete the hands-freefunction does not come with this equipment because it is providedin the telephone connection kit and should be positioned at will.
The mobile phone connection has two powersupplies; one direct and one ignition-operated; another power supplyworks with the side lights on and serves to light the phone - wherefitted.The operation of the telephone, temporarilyswitches off the radio (MUTE function).The above two lines are protected by a fusein the junction unit.
Functional description The connection D75 receives a supplydirectly (pin 6) from the battery via the line for fuse F10 ofthe junction unit B1 and maxifuse J/B1 of B5 upto 2/99 or of B99 from 2/99. It receives a supply controlled by the ignition(INT) (pin 8) via the line for fuse F1 of the junction unit B1 . The supply with the side lights switchedon reaches pin 7 via the line coming from the switch for the steeringcolumn switch unit H5 and protected by the controls illuminationfuse B11 up to 2/99 or fuse F4 of the additional fusebox B98B from 2/99 Pin 5 of connection D75 is earthed,while pins 9 and 10 supply the signal to the loudspeaker P35 ,connector B, while connector A is for the radio ( 3234201SeeE3510RADIO ). Lastly, pin 1 is connected to the radio P20 (MUTEfunction).

Follow these precautions.769On batteries with an opticam hydrometer,electrolyte level and battery charge status can be monitored qualitativelyby examining the indicator colour:a light, bright colour indicates low electrolytelevel: top up with distilled water;a dark colour without a green area in thecentre indicates that the electrolyte level is correct but chargeis low: recharge the battery;a dark colour with a green area in themiddle indicates that both electrolyte level and charge status arecorrect: no action is necessary. For more details 3238420See subassembly5530 CURRENT GENERATOR . 768Proceed as follows.Check the battery voltage without loadusing the test device recommended by the Service outlets (e.g. 'MICRO360').Depending on the voltage values measured,which define the state of charge of the battery, proceed as follows: If the voltage without load is less than12.10 V, replace the battery ( 32384295530B10battery - r+r ). If the voltage without load is over 12.10V but less than 12.50 V, recharge the battery ( 32384305530B14battery - recharge ). If the voltage without load is over 12.50V, the battery is efficient.If necessary, top up the electrolyte asfollows.Carefully remove the cap strip.Top up with distilled and deionized water,taking care not to allow electrolyte to splash out.768
