DESCRIPTION - CIGAR LIGHTER / CURRENT SOCKET - Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTD 16V Fino a 12/05
There is a standard type current socket on the tunnel console next to the handbrake, which can be used for the cigar lighter or for connecting instruments or equipment operating on 12 V.There is a second current socket the same as the first one in the end section of the tunnel console towards the rear seats.In the STATION WAGON version there is also a third current socket similar to the other two, located on the left-hand side of the luggage compartment.The cigar lighter heater coil can be placed in the front socket of the console; simply press the knob to operate it: after a few seconds it will come out automatically, ready for use.The two sockets on the console have a ring nut that lights up when the side lights are on.The sockets are equipped with a thermal protection device: this protection cuts off the power supply if devices that absorb a lot of energy are connected.The circuit for the two current sockets in the console is protected by a specific fuse and controlled by the ignition-operated exclusion relay located in the junction unit under the dashboard. These sockets are ignition-operated (INT/A), to prevent the battery from being run down.The circuit for the luggage compartment current socket is also controlled by an ignition-operated (INT/A) exclusion relay and protected by a specific fuse, located in the luggage compartment fuse box.

Current socket/ cigar lighter P50 and the one at the back on the tunnel P51 receive a power supply from the ignition-controlled line (INT/A) of relay T12 and are protected by fuses F44 and F52 respectively, both housed in the junction unit under the dashboard B2.In the STATION WAGON version the rear current socket P52 power supply arrives via the relay T21 located in the fuse box in the boot B45; this is energized by the ignition-controlled line (INT/A) which arrives directly from the steering lock node M89; fuse F55, also located in B45, protects the P52 power supply circuit.Unlike the other two, the rear current socket does not have a ring nut that lights up when the side lights are switched on.
