DESCRIPTION - REAR FOG LAMPS - Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTD 16V Da 01/06
The vehicle is equipped with a red bright rear fog lamp located in the left rear light cluster on the moving part of the boot lid.The rear fog lamp is activated via the special button in the controls to the left of the steering wheel; when the lights are on, the warning light in the instrument panel comes on.The switching on of the rear fog lamp is managed by the Body Computer; it is activated by:- the TEG inserted enablement signal (INT);- a control signal coming from the switch- dipped headlamps or fog lights on signal.If the dipped headlamps lights or the fog lights are turned off, the rear fog lamps are deactivated even if the operating button is still pressed. When the side lights are switched on again, the rear fog lamps do not come on automatically, but only when the button is pressed again.If the TEG is switched off (OFF position) and then switched back on (MAR), the button must be activated again to turn on the fog lights.The rear fog lamp check function checks that the light is working properly: the following are checked:- circuit open or bulb missing- short-circuit to earth (bulb s.c. or wiring s.c. to earth)- short circuit to battery voltage (wiring short circuited to Vbatt)When one of the situations described above is ascertained, the Body Computer makes the failure status available to the CAN: a special "lights failure" warning light comes on in the instrument panel and, at the same time, the information is shown in the display.

The (earth) activation signal for the rear fog lamps reaches pin 35 of connector G of M1 from the control button in the panel to the left of the steering wheel H90.The side lights and dipped hedlamps activation signal is sent to pin 28 of connector G and 2 of connector I of the Body Computer M1 from the steering column switch unit H5.the fog lights activation signal reaches pin 1 of connector I of the Body Computer M1On the basis of these signals, Body Computer M1 controls the power supply of the rear fog lamp in tailight F35 from pin 31 of connector E of M1.
