DescriptionThere are three ashtrays in the car: one is in the centre of the dashboard, and two are in the rear doors. The front ashtray is illuminated when the ignition is on.The car has two power sockets: one in the front on the central console and one at the back between the air vents. The power sockets are standard, and the ring is illuminated when the ignition is on.The front socket contains the cigarette lighter resistor, and can also be used like the rear socket to connect instruments or devices (provided they are 12 V). To operate the cigar lighter, simply press the knob: after a few seconds it pops out automatically, ready for use.The power sockets have a heat protection device: if devices with high energy absorption are connected, this protection cuts off the supply. The power socket circuits are protected by specific fuses located in the junction unit. The front power circuit is supplied when the ignition is on.The rear power socket is supplied directly from the battery and so can also operated when the ignition key is on STOP or removed.
Functional description Power point / cigar lighter P50 is supplied with power (to pin 2) from an ignition-operated line (15/54) protected by fuse F7 from junction unit B1 . Pin 3 of socket P50 supplies an earth connection from C15 . The power point ring is lit (at pin 1) from ignition-operated line (INT/A), protected by fuse F5 of junction unit B1 . The same power supply also lights the ring of supplementary power point P51 , also at pin 1. The resistance of supplementary power point P51 is supplied directly from the battery via MAXIFUSE B5 (CENTR) and protected by fuse F19 of junction unit B1 The pin of connector P51 is connected to earth C30 .
