DescriptionThe Navigator system makes it possible to reach a pre-established destination by means of visual and acoustic instructions without having any knowledge of the place of destination.The instantaneous position of the car is determined by the GPS system (Global Postioning System) which processes the satellite signals and signals coming from various sensors of the car with data supplied by the gyroscope integrated in the navigation computer and the data stored in a specific CD-ROM.The Navigator system is managed by the ICS (Integrated Control System), whose control panel is located in the central console.The panel contains a 5' active matrix colour LCD display, two knobs for adjusting the volume of the acoustic messages and the contrast of the LCD, and a set of keys for activating and checking the following functions of the car (standard or available on request):radio or Hi-Fi system (AUDIO);GSM telephone (TEL);navigator (NAV);trip computer (TRIP);climate control system (CLIMA).The display shows the screen relating to the selected system; any screens in cascade are shown successively in accordance with the selections made.A main screen summarizes the basic information on the status of all the systems. Functional description ICS display E60 displays the navigator and on-board computer functions. The navigation system is controlled by a special navigator control unit M90.The on-board computer function is performed by the electronic circuitry of display E60, which receives the necessary information from other devices on the car. Navigator control unit M90 is supplied directly by the battery. (maxifuse CENTR of B5 ) - to pin 14 - through fuse F18 of junction unit B1 . Pin 1 of N90 is earthed. Pin 3 receives a speedometer signal from instrument E50 - pin 6 of connector B. Pin 4 receives a reverse engagement signal (see 3309201SeeE2022REVERSING LIGHTS ). Control unit M90 communicates with the ICS display E60 via numerous lines:pin 2 receives an ignition signal;pins 8, 9, 10, 22 and 23 control screen signals;pins 13 and 26 handle audio signals;all the other information is exchanged by serial lines leading from pins 5 and 7. Control unit M90 is equipped with a self-diagnostic system that can be used by connecting the unit to connector R10 . The unit receives signals from the serial connection line between control unit M90 and ICS display E60 , which is connected - pin 1 of connector B - to R10 . 'On-board computer' function is performed by the electronic system of display E60 , which processes information form the various systems and the climate control unit H80. Direct power line from the battery. (maxifuse CENTR of B5 ) through fuse F18 of junction unit B1 and supplies ICS display E60 - to pins 13 and 26 of connector A. Ignition-operated power supply (INT/A) reaches pin 2 of connector B of ICS display E60 through fuse F5 of junction unit B1 . Another ignition-operated supply (15/54) reaches pin 3 of connector B of E60 through fuse F7 of junction unit B1 . Climate control system H80 and ICS display E60 are connected from pin 8 of H80 to pin 15 of connector B of E60 via a special serial connection line. Pin 4 of climate control unit H80 receives a speedometer signal from instrument E50 - pin 6 of connector B. The same signal is also directed to display E60 - pin 24 of connector A. Pins 10 and 11 of climate control unit H80 receives signals from fuel level measuring device N40 , that are processed to compute fuel consumption.(the signals are fom the gauge on the instrument panel (see 3309717SeeE4010INSTRUMENT PANEL ). Pin 23 of connector A of E60 receives a fuel consumption signal if engine management unit M10 allows for it.
