DESCRIPTION - MAIN BEAM HEADLAMPS - Fiat BRAVO 1.4 16v

The vehicle is equipped with two high beams in the headlamps. The main beams are switched on by the steering column switch unit:- with the dipped beams on, by pushing the lever towards the dashboard (stable mode)- in flashing mode, by pulling the lever toward the steering wheel (unstable mode)The switching on of the high beams is managed by the Body Computer.A special relay in the engine compartment junction unit controls the activation of the main beams via two lines protected by specific fuses. The high beam activation relay is controlled by the Body Computer: relay excitation is activated via a specific stalk unit control signal.Activation/deactivation information is sent via the CAN: in this way, the main beam warning light is activated in the instrument panel.767There are two main beam bulbs on versions with xenon headlamps: The first tradition (halogen) one comes on in "flashing" mode; when there is a switch from dipped to main beam headlamps, the xenon bulb remains on and a metal screen is moved, by means of a motor, being lowered for dipped headlamp operation and raised for main beam headlamp operation.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - MAIN BEAM HEADLAMPS - Fiat BRAVO 1.4 16v

The main beam headlamps activation signal is sent to pin 33 of connector G of the Body Computer M1 from the steering column switch unit H5Pin 5 of connector C of H5 receives a reference earth from pin 9 of connector I of M1.The Body Computer M1 receives a direct supply from the battery via the line protected by maxifuse B99 at pin 18 of connector F of the interface with the junction unit under the dashboard B2; the ignition-controlled supply (INT) reaches pin 9 of connector F of the interface with the junction unit B2.The Body Computer M1 controls the supply for the dipped headlamps sending an earth signal to the engine compartment junction unit B1 from pin 12 of connector A of M1 which energizes relay T2: this supplies the dipped headlamps F10 (left) and F11 (right). Each circuit is protected by a fuse in the junction unit B1 : F15 for the left headlamp and F14 for the right. The Body Computer M1 is connected via the CAN line to the instrument panel E50 to manage the "main beam headlamps" warning light.
