The following diagram shows the various earths on the car. The associated circuits are shown for each earth.This makes it easy to identify the earthed circuits on an individual line: this aids fault and failure detection operations if problems affect more than one function, e.g. oxidation of an earth may put several circuits and numerous functions out of action simultaneously.768
The earths present on the vehicle, categorised according to their relationship with the various wires, are as follows:- battery negative wiring: A01 D, C02, C03;- front wiring: C10, C12;- radiator wiring: C01 B, C01 C;- dashboard wiring: C15 A, C50 A;- rear wiring: C15 C, C30, C50 B;- engine wiring: C01 A, C11, C39, C40, C40 A, C40 B, C60, C60 A, C60 B, C62.The earths in the engine wiring depend on the relevant engine version.
