The car is fitted with numerous electronic control units that perform a self-diagnostic function.When a diagnostic tester is connected to these control units, self-diagnosis data can be read (parameters, errors) or the available active diagnostic tests can be carried out.This vehicle does not incude a diagnostic socket for each control unit. Instead everything is managed by the body computer and the single diagnostic socket takes the form of a connector on the body computer.One of the functions of the body computer is to control the efficient operation of all the components in the vehicle and store any errors and/or malfunctions.
The body computer M01 receives a supply controlled by the ignition (INT) and a direct supply at pins 11 of connector E nd pin A of connector C, respectively for the junction unit under the dashboard B02.Fuse F1 in engine compartment junction unit B01 protects the direct power supply.Connector B of the body computer represents the connection interface for the external diagnostic tool (EXAMINER):- pin 1, for ABS control unit M50: from pin 7 at pin 16 connector C of the body computer;- pin 3, for Air-Bag control unit M60: from pin 7 connector A at pin 12 connector E of the body computer;- pin 7, for engine control unit M10 (for the Natural Power version, also for the methane injection control unit M19) respectively:- from pin 10 connector A (1.4 8v);- from pin 88 connector A (1.3 JTD);- from pin 25 connector A (1.9 JTD);- from pin 25 connector A of M10 and pin 3 connector A of M19 (Natural Power),at pin 20 connector C of Body Computer M01.Pin 16 connector B supplies a line (battery +30) protected by fuse F39 of under-dashboard junction unit B02.Pins 4 and 5 of connector B of M01 are earthed.
