Description - COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENT - Fiat DOBLO 1.9 JTD 8V da 12/03


The right button in the climate control control panel in the centre of the dashboard switches on the air cooling and dehumidifying circuit, activating the air conditioning compressor.the above button enables the operation of the air cooling circuit; but the actual switching on of the compressor also depends on the intervention of:the 4 stage pressure switch, located in the refrigerant circuit, which stops the air conditioning being switched on if the pressure of the fluid is too low or too high;the engine control unit which, according to the engine management logic, excludes the operation of the compressor, for example in the case of high engine temperatures or in the case of high engine loads (sharp acceleration).In addition the enablement is required for the vehicle interior fan adjustment knob (at least in position 1) and the frost thermostat ().The compressor supply circuit is controlled by a specific relay, located in the engine compartment in the junction unit; the relay supply line is protected by a specific fuse.

Functional description - COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENT - Fiat DOBLO 1.9 JTD 8V da 12/03


The compressor engagement circuit is controlled by the relay R5 housed in the engine compartment junction unit B01 . It is supplied by the direct line from the battery entering at pin 1 connector A of the junction unit and protected by fuse F19 .The coil for the relay R5 is supplied by the signal coming from the relay R9 which, in turn, receives a direct supply from battery from pin 1 connector A. The supply to the coil for the relay R9 is also direct from the battery from pin 1 connector A and is protected by fuse F18 .The relays R9 and R5 are energized by an earth signal coming from the engine management control unit M10 (pin 13 for R9 and pin 18 for R5 ). In this way the control unit M10 controls the engagement of the air conditioning compressor L20 at a voltage of 12 V through the relay R5 .The engine management control unit M10 receives signals from the 4 stage pressure switch K10 for engaging the radiator fan:the operation at the first speed from pin 52;the operation at the second speed from pin 51;the engagement of the air conditioning from pin 60.
