Description - WINDSCREEN WASH/WIPE - Fiat DOBLO 1.2 8v Da 10/2000

The system operates with the ignition key turned ON.The windscreen wiper system is activated by the steering column switch unit lever on the right of the steering wheel.There are five different positions for this lever corresponding to:windscreen wiper off (standstill);intermittent operation (up to 4 types of intermittent function);continuous fast operation (1st speed);continuous fast operation (2nd speed);temporary operation (unstable lever position, lever returns to neutral position when released and automatically deactivates the windscreen wiper.The windscreen washer function is operated by pulling the lever gently towards the steering wheel: the windscreen washer pump is activated in this way; if the lever is kept in this position, the windscreen wiper comes on (continuous operation); when the lever is released, the windscreen wiper still works for a few strokes.The operation of the windscreen wiper is governed by an electronic device, inside the steering wheel stalk unit, which generates the intermittent function and controls the operation of the actual windscreen wiper motor.The windscreen wash/wipe circuit is protected by a fuse and is operated by a relay both in the junction unit under the dashboard.

Functional description - WINDSCREEN WASH/WIPE - Fiat DOBLO 1.2 8v Da 10/2000

The windscreen wiper switch on the steering column switch unit H05 makes it possible to select the different windscreen wash/wipe operating modes.The supply for the steering column switch unit H05 arrives at pin 11 of connector A via the outlet at pin 10 connector A of the junction unit under the dashboard B02 .Inside the junction unit B02 this line comes from the relay R12 via a line protected by fuse F43 . The supply at the relay arrives from the line protected by fuse F1 housed in the junction unit B01 from pin A connector C of the junction unit under the dashboard B02 .The operation of the relay R12 is determined by the supply line controlled by the ignition (INT/A) entering the junction unit under the dashboard B02 at pin 1 connector E.Depending on the pre-selected function, the stalk unit H05 (connector A) sends the following control signals to the internal electronic device to the windscreen wiper motor N15:from pin 9 for operation at first speed;from pin 8 for operation at second speed;from pin 6 for zeroing.Stalk unit H05 also supplies windscreen/rear window wiper pump N22 by sending a supply signal and an an earth signal from pins 12 and 10 of connector A.Steering column switch unit H05 is earthed at pin 7 connector A and at pin 5 connector C.The windscreen wiper motor N15 is then connected to earth at pin 5.
