DESCRIPTION - MAIN BEAM HEADLAMPS - Fiat GRANDE PUNTO 1.2 8v
The vehicle is equipped with two high beams in the headlamps. The main beams are switched on by the steering column switch unit:- with the dipped beams on, by pushing the lever towards the dashboard (stable mode)- in flashing mode, by pulling the lever toward the steering wheel (unstable mode)The switching on of the high beams is managed by the Body Computer.A special relay in the engine compartment junction unit controls the activation of the main beams via two lines protected by specific fuses. The low beam activation relay is controlled by the Body Computer relay excitation is activated via a specific stalk unit control signal.Activation/deactivation information is sent via the CAN network: in this way, the main beam warning light is activated in the instrument panel.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - MAIN BEAM HEADLAMPS - Fiat GRANDE PUNTO 1.2 8v
A single signal (earth) is sent from stalk unit H5 to Body Computer M1 to manage the high beams in fixed and flashing mode: from pin 2 of H5 to pin 37 of connector D of M1; the signal sent is coded through various resistance partitions so that multiple information is sent to the Body Computer via a single connection. The reference earth reaches pin 10 of H5 from pin 34 of connector D of M1.IBody Computer M1 - connector G - is supplied directly by the battery from a line protected by maxifuse F2 of engine compartment control unit B1; it is suppiled via the ignition (INT) at pin 32 of connector D; pin 10 of connector H of M1 supplies a reference earth to the Body Computer. The Body Computer M1 controls the supply for the main beam headlamps sending an earth signal to relay T4 in the junction unit in the engine compartment B1 from pin 10 of connector A of M1 which energizes relay T4: this supplies the dipped headlamps F10 (left) and F11 (right). Each circuit is protected by a fuse in the junction unit B1 : F16 for the left headlamp and F17 for the right.Relay T4 is in turn supplied by relay T5 of B1: this is an "ignition-operated except during start-up (INT/A)" supply controlled from pin 1 of connector A of M1.The Body Computer M1 is connected via the CAN line to the instrument panel E50 to manage the "main beam headlamps" warning light.
