In the case of poor visibility it is possible to activate the demisting of the rearscreen and the exterior rear view mirrors.The heating resistances for these components absorb a considerable amount of energy and are therefore controlled and, possibly, deactivated after they have been working for a certain length of time: the demisting is subject to a delay timer, managed by the Body Computer, according to the following logic:- ignition-operated, starting excluded (INT/A);- engagement signal coming from the special button in the climate control system control panel.Under these circumstances the resistances remain supplied for a maximum of 20 minutes, then the supply is cut off.The supply is cut off in the following conditions:- Key-off- disengagement signal from the button;- battery voltage below 11.5 V;- after the first 10 minutes of operation if the engine speed is below 960 rpm.With the defrosting on the warning light in the climate control system controls also comes on.The activation timer (20 minutes) is set again each time the button is operated.In specifications with an AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONER, the climate control system control unit logic also intervenes with the "MAX-DEF" command in accordance with the logic described previously.The "MAX-DEF" function lasts for 3 minutes starting from when the engine temperature exceeds a certain limit.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - HEATED REAR WINDSCREEN AND DOOR MIRROR DEFROSTING - Fiat GRANDE PUNTO 1.3 Multijet
The heated rear windscreen relay T32, located in the engine compartment junction unit B1, controls the engagement of the heated rear windscreen P55 defrosting resistances via the line protected by fuse F69 of junction unit B1.The coil of relay T32 is supplied via an ignition-controlled supply from relay T5 of B1: the supply, ignition-controlled except during start-up (INT/A) is controlled by pin 13 of connector A of M1. Relay T32 is excited by an earth signal from Body Computer M1 - pin 46 of connector A. This signal is sent on the basis of the strategy described previously and in the presence of a heated rear window control from pin 10 of the switch in unit H80 to pin 20 of connector A of M1 in specifications with MANUAL CLIMATE CONTROL or via the CAN network from the control unit of climate control system M70 at pins 39 and 54 of connector A of M1 - in specifications with an AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONER.when the demister is on, Body Computer M1 - pin 12 of connector M1 - sends a positive signal to turn on the led located near the pushbutton in the climate control unit.Activation of door mirror demister coils P60 and P61 is similarly controlled via heated rear window relay T32 and a line protected by fuse F70 of control unit B1.
