The sun-roof provides a means of extra passenger compartment ventilation and ensures swift air exchange when necessary for improved passenger comfort.The front part of this extensive glass roof is mobile and the rear part is fixed. An manually-operated inner blind that rolls into the roof trim ensures protection against solar radiation.The system is operated by a switch located near the front courtesy light that controls a motor with two different operating modes: when one end of the switch is pressed, the roof swivels open. When the other end of the switch is pressed, the roof slides open.Roof movement is controlled manually and automatically in accordance with the following strategy:- if the button is pressed is between 60 and 300 milliseconds, operation is manual. the roof moves only with the key pressed;- f the key is pressed for longer than 300 milliseconds, operation is automatic: even if the button is released, the glass continues to move up/down until the end of travel position is reached or until the intervention of the anti-pinch safety system;- pressing the button again whilst the window is moving stops it in the position it is in;- if the button is pressed for less than 60 milliseconds, this is ignored (it is treated as an accidental knock).The electronic roof control circuit also includes an antipinch function: when the roof is closing, the momvement is interrupted and reversed for about 10 cm if an obstacle is detected by means of a Hall effect sensor located on the motor.Sunroof movements via the control key are allowed only with key on.

The switch that controls the sun-roof and the roof motor is connected to the vehicle wiring through junction D45.Pin 3 of D45 receives a direct power supply from fuse F50 located in the boot compartment fuse box B45.Pin 1 of D45 receives an ignition-operated power supply from Body Computer M1 - pin 6 of connector E - from the line of fuse F61 of M1.Body Computer M1 - connector G - is supplied directly by the battery via a line protected by maxifuse F2 of engine compartment control unit B1; it is supplied with an ignition-operated supply (INT) at pin 32 of connector D; pin 10 of connector H of M1 supplies the Body Computer with a reference earth.Pin 4 of D45 is earthed.Pin 2 of D45 receives a speedometer signal from pin 23 of ABS control unit M50.
