DescriptionThe left and right direction indicators are operated by raising or lowering the left lever on the stalk unit. the function is activated with the ignition key in the ON position. The hazard warning lights (right and left direction indicators operated simultaneously) are turned on by the pressing a button in the centre of the dashboard between the climate control system controls and both the direction indicators come on at the same time. An LED in the back of the button also comes on flashing in synchronization with the outside lights; the function is always activated. The switching on of the direction indicators / hazard warning lights is managed by the Body Computer which also controls the flashing frequency which is sent to the other connectors via the CAN serial network. In this way, the two direction indicator warning lights in the instrument panel are also lit up; in addition, as well as the activation of the lamps, the system also produces a low frequency auditory signal. The correct operation of the lights is controlled by the direction indicators 'check' function: the following is controlled for each of the two circuits (right branch and left side):open circuit or bulb missingshort circuit to earth (bulb short circuit or wiring short circuit to earth)short circuit to Vbatt (wiring short circuit to Vbatt)If one of the situations described above is detected, the Body Computer notifies the CAN of the failure state: the special 'lights failure' warning light in the instrument panel comes on and, at the same time, the information is shown on the display. In addition, at the same time as the failure indication is activated, the frequency of the flashing for the visual display in the panel and the auditory signal increases; the frequency of the flashing of the exterior lights and the LED in the hazard warning lights button, on the other hand, remains unchange.23 the direction indicators are also used to signal the receipt of the commands sent by the remote control and/or to signal a manoeuvre not carried out by the 'passenger compartment access' control system 2399254SeeE3040CENTRAL LOCKING .
Functional description The turn signal activation (earth) signals are sent to pins 7 of connector I and 30 of connector G of the Body Computer M1 from the steering column switch unit H5. The hazard warning lights activation signal, on the other hand, reaches pin 34 of connector G of M1 from the control button in the climate control system controls H80 (or M70). The direct supply for the climate control system H80 controls (or M70) arrives via the line of fuse F39 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2; pin 7 of connector A is earthed (earth controlled by the Body Computer M1). The Body Computer M1 receives a specific direct supply for the hazard warning lights via fuse line F53 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2; as a result, it controls the side direction indicators F20 (left) and F21 (rght) from pins 2 and 13 of connector D, the front side lights F10 (left) F11 (right) from pins 38 and 39 of connector B and for the rear side lights F30 (left) F31 (right) from pins 12 and 3 of connector D. The (positive) signal is sent, from pin 29 of connector G of M1, to light up the LED in the climate control system controls button H80 (or M70). The Body Computer M1 is connected, via the CAN line, to the instrument panel E50, to manage the 'direction indicators' warning light, the buzzer and, if there are failures in the circuit, the 'lights failure' warning light.
