DescriptionThe geared motor for opening the boot ('boot 'release') is activated by the remote control in two ways:independently of the doors: there is a special button in the remote control that allows the boot only to be unlocked: the boot is released and rises slightly. The operation is signalled by the direction indicators flashing twice. the boot returns to its status prior to opening when reclosed.23in this way the unlocking of the doors leaves the boot locked. at the same time and together with the unlocking of the doors: the tailgate is considered, to all intents and purposes, as a fifth door: for the control logic, see 2399254SeeE3040CENTRAL LOCKINGA special feature on the control panel can be used to choose the two methods described above:The tailgage (after being unlocked) can only be opened from the outside of the vehicle using the electric opening handle located above the number plate. The boot opening function is disabled (the tailgate does not open) at vehicle speeds above 10 km/h to prevent undesired opening whilst driving caused, for example, by vibration of the exterior handle (on very uneven road surfaces). The boot opening circuit is protected by a special fuse located in the unit under the dashboard. The remote control receiver aerial is connected directly to the Body Computer which contains the electronics for the actual receiver.
Functional description The 'boot open' signal is sent by the switch located in the handle near the number plate light assembly F52 to pin 35 of connector E of the Body Computer M1. The RF aerial receiver P93 sends the Body Computer M1 the open/close signal for the doors and also the boot, in accordance with the logic described previously, to pins 21 and 31 of connector B SeeE3040 CENTRAL LOCKING . The Body Computer M1 implements the boot release function in accordance with the control strategy described - pin 11 of connector F via the line supplied by fuse F38 of the underfacia junction unit B2, pin 18 of connector D - to control operation of boot catch motor N57. The boot unlocking function, inside the Body Computer M1 pin 1 of connector F; also has a dedicated earth connection: pin 20 of connector F. The geared motor N57 is supplied until the opening of the boot is detected: the boot not properly closed signal is sent to the switch I11 which is connected to pin 24 of connector E.23 the contact in question signals the boot not properly closed condition; the switch is fitted with another contact which signals the boot open condition, this contact is used for the boot light function. 2399213SeeE2520GLOVE COMPARTMENT LIGHT - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT - SUN VISOR LIGHT
