DescriptionThe front seats may be optionally fitted with a special heating system (consisting of two heater elements located in the cushion and squab): these heat the seat to ease the discomfort of entering a cold passenger compartment in very cold weather, e.g. when the car is left outside for long periods during winter. The heating device located in each seat consists of two resistors operated by a switch located on the outside of each seat.Once a certain temperature is reached, the heating action is automatically cut off by a thermal contact inside the device. An LED located in the actual switches indicates when the resistors are switched on.The seat heating circuit is controlled by two dedicated relays, located near the operating switches. The circuit is protected by a specific fuse and operated by the services relay for the junction unit under the dashboard: the power supply is available both with the ignition ON and with the ignition OFF: during starting, this relay is temporarily deactivated, whilst with the ignition OFF, the Body Computer keeps the relay activated for 3 minutes, but deactivates it 30 seconds after one of the doors is opened.
Functional description The power supply for the two seat relays J62A and J62B comes from the line controlled by relay T13 and protected by fuse F45, both housed in the junction unit under the dashboard B2. The services relay T13 is energized according to the logic described above and controlled by the Body Computer M1 pin 14 connector F. The energizing of the two relays, with the consequent supply of the two resistances for the heaters O40 and O41 takes place via the switches I65 and I66. The switches I65 and I66 are, in turn, supplied by the ignition-operated line (INT) for fuse F49 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2. The positive energizing command for the relays J62A and J62B also lights up the LED inside switches I65 and I66. to signal that the heating is activated.
