DescriptionThe electric windows in the front doors are operated through the switches in the handles in the front driver's door (both windows) and the front passenger door (passenger side only).The operation is manual: the glass only goes up/down when the button is pressed. Both windows can only be operated when the ignition is on.The control switch symbols are lit when the key is turned to MAR.The circuit for the electric windows is protected by two special fuses, one for the driver's side and one for the passenger side and is controlled by a specific relay (which also operates the rear electric windows); all of these are next to the junction unit.
Functional description The electric windows relay J65 controls the operation of the front electric windows circuit. The electric windows relay is supplied by the direct line from the battery through the maxifuse J/B2 for B5. The coil for the relay is supplied when the ignition is switched on (INT) from the line for fuse F8 for the junction unit B1 and is always earthed: the relay is therefore always energized when the ignition is switched on (INT). In this way, the line protected by fuses B22, for the driver's side and B23 for the passenger side, supply the switches H40 (driver's front electric window switch in the front driver's door), H41 (passenger front electric window switch in the passenger side front door) and H50 (electric window switch in passenger side front door) wih the LEDs which light up the actual switches. Operating the switches sends a supply and an earth to the left electric window motor N60 or the right one N61; reversing the signals according to the contact which is closed, determines the direction of rotation of the actual motor.
