DescriptionThe electric windows in the rear doors are operated by means of switches located in the panel and switches in each of the rear doors. Operation of the rear electrically-operated windows is manual (the window is raised/lowered only when the switch is pressed).For safety reasons, a special lock switch in the panel next to the switches cuts off the power supply to the rear switches to prevent accidental operation, for example, by children, making it possible to use the switches in the panel only. The rear electrically-operated windows will work only when the key is turned to MAR.The control switch symbols are lit when the key is turned to MAR.The circuit for the electric rear windows is protected by a special fuse and controlled by a special relay. Both are next to the junction unit.
Functional description The rear electric windows relay J66 controls the operation of the same circuit. The electric windows relay is supplied by the direct line from the battery through the maxifuse J/B2 for B5 . The coil for the relay is supplied when the ignition is switched on (INT) from the line for fuse F8 for the junction unit B1 and is always earthed: the relay is therefore always energized when the ignition is switched on (INT). In this way, with the line protected by fuse B17 , the switches H47 (left), H48 (right) and H55 (rear electric windows lock) are supplied and are therefore supplied when the ignition is switched on (INT/A) and connected to earth: they are also lit up when the ignition is switched ON. When these switches are operated - if switch H55 is in the go ahead position - they send the control signals (positive and negative) to the switches in the rear doors H53 and H54 and from there to the motors N65 (left) and N66 (right): reversing the signals according to the contact which has been closed, determines the direction of rotation of the actual motor.
