DescriptionThe vehicle is prepared for the installation of a radio system.This preparation comprises:radio compartmentradio supply cablesfront loudspeakers located in the doors and separate tweeters, in the front pillars;rear speakers, located in the doors;leads connecting the radio to the speakers;aerial;aerial coaxial cable.The radio circuit is supplied with the key turned to the ON position, or directly from the battery (which allows tuning settings, security codes, etc. to be stored).The above two lines are protected by two fuses in the junction unit.In addition to the radio there is also a supply with the side lights on to light up the radio controls.A radio, specially designed for this vehicle, is available on request and is fitted during production. Full radio specifications and operating instructions are given in the OWNER'S HANDBOOK.On request, the radio can be connected to a CD player, located under the outside front passenger seat.
Functional description The radio P20 is supplied directly (pins 4 and 7 for connector A) by the battery via the line for the maxifuse J/B1 for B5 and is protected by fuse F10 of the junction unit B1 . It receives a supply when the ignition is switched on (INT) (pin 3 of connector A) via the line for fuse F1 of junction unit B1 . Pin 6 of connector A receives the supply with the side lights switched on via the line protected by fuse F2 located in the junction unit B1 ( 2888812SeeE2010SIDE LIGHTS / NO. PLATE LIGHTS ). Pin 8 of connector A is earthed. Pin 5 of connector A is connected with the amplifier P25 which controls the supply of the aerial. The feeder P25 is then connected to the radio by means of the special aerial cable. Pin 1 of connector A is connected to the radio phone coupling for the preparation for the cellular phone and to the navigation system coupling ( 2889211SeeE3580PREPARATION FOR CELLULAR TELEPHONE , 2889304SeeE4090NAVIGATOR ). Connector B sends out cables carrying signals to the speakers:pins 5 and 6 to the left front speakers P35 and P45 ; pins 3 and 4 to the right front speakers P36 and P46 ; pins 7 and 8 to the left rear speakers P40 ;pins 1 and 2 for the right rear speakers P41 . The cable connected to the CD player P75 comes out of connector C.
