The alarm system offers volume-sensing and perimeter protection against intrusion into the vehicle.A special control unit (integrated in the body computer) checks:the state of the doors and lids, via switches in the catches (perimeter control)the presence of a moving object inside the passenger compartment, by means of volumetric sensors. (volumetric control);an attempt to tilt the vehicle;operation of the ignition switch.The control unit is equipped with a self-diagnostic function which detects and memorises faults and problems in the control unit and system components; in addition, it checks the condition of the connecting cables and saves the number of activations and times the alarm has been operated.The control unit operating logic can be modified in order to satisfy the legal requirements which govern the use of alarm systems in the various markets.For more details Description and Operation 5580E ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM .All the outside components are connected to the Body Computer by means of a dedicated serial line.The alarm siren is located at the front, under the wheel arch liner on the left of the engine compartment.The door lock system switches are used to monitor the doors and boot.A special separate switch detects bonnet closure.The volumetric sensors check that there are no intrustions in the vehicle. They are located in the front courtesy light: they consist of a transmitter and a receiver: the wave transmitted by one transmitter must reach the receiver of the other sensor and viceversa: otherwise an alarm signal is sent to the control unit.The function may be activated/deactivated by pressing a key next to the sensor: when the function is excluded, an LED next to the button is turned on.The anti-tilt sensor, is located in the front courtesy light; it detects the slightest variation in the angle of the vehicle in relation to either the longitudinal axis or the vertical axis. When the button next to the sensor is pressed the function can be switched on/off: when the function is excluded, an LED next to the button is turned on.The deterrent LED is located to the side of the driver''s door safety knob: it signals the "central locking" functionWith the alarm on the LED flashes at 0.8 Hz to indicate that the vehicle is locked.767The deterrent function is also activated if one or more of the doors or the boot is not properly shut.The remote control receiver aerial is connected directly to the Body Computer which contains the actual electronics for the receiver..

Operational description - ALARM - Fiat STILO 1.4 16v da 07/02 a 06/03


The alarm system is managed by the alarm control unit integrated in the Body Computer M1: it is supplied by the battery from the line for the maxifuse CPL B99 - pin 18 of connector F and by the line protected by fuse F39 - pin 17 of connector F; the ignition-controlled supply (INT) reaches pin 9.The Body Computer M1 receives "door open" input signals at pin 8 (driver''s front door), pin 25 (passenger front door), pin 16 (left rear door) and 26 (right rear door) of connector E; these same signals switch on the timed lights.The bonnet is controlled by the switch I10 that is connected to pin 24 of connector B of M1, while the boot not properly shut signal arrives from the switch I11 which is connected to pin 24 of connector E (the same switch turnes on the boot light with a different contact)..The siren P90 receives a supply from the Body Computer M1, from pin 34 connector B and is connected with the dedicated serial line at pin 25.The unit that incorporates the volumetric and anti-tilt sensors K62 is supplied by the Body Computer M1 from pin 39 of connector E and is connected through the dedicated serial lien to pin 7 of connector D.The unit K62 receives an ignition-operated supply (INT) protected by fuse F49 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2; it contains two buttons for switching off the volumetric control and anti-tilt function.The deterrent LED E40 located in the driver''s front door is connected to pins 6 and 8 of connector C of M66 and from there, via the CAN, to the Body Computer M1.The aerial-receiver P93 sends the Body Computer M1 the control signal for the doors and for the alarm system, connecting to pins 21 and 31 of connector BThe RF aerial-receiver P93 sends the Body Computer M1 the opening/closing signal for the doors and for the windows and the sun roof as well, connecting to pins 21 and 31 of connector B..
