Description - PASSIVE ENTRY - Fiat STILO 1.9 JTD 8v Fino a 04/2005

The Passive-Entry and Easy-Go system allows the management of the vehicle protection, entry into the passenger compartment and engine starting. The system described for access to the passenger compartment and engine starting that allows the customer to enter the vehicle and start up the engine without using the key, simply by carrying a CID.When the driver approaches the locked vehicle with their CID (e.g. in their pocket), pulls the handle and the system automatically recognizes them, unlocking the doors and switching off the alarm.Once seated in the driver''s seat, the driver presses a button in the dashboard and the system enables engine starting by recognizing the CID.To exit, press the button again and the engine is switched off..Having left the vehicle, the driver can lock the doors and switch the alarm on by pressing a button in the exterior handles or, if it has been set previously, the system automatically locks the vehicle after the CID moves away (e.g. in the driver''s pocket). The entire usage cycle for the vehicle consequently takes place without the need to use a key, either for opening/closing the vehicle (remote control function) or for switching the engine on/off (ignition key function). In addition to the control unit - connected to the CAN - the system also comprises a special device known as a CID (Customer Identification Device) which replaces the normal key and remote control.Like the key it contains a transponder with the codes for the CODE system programmed and a battery to supply the Alarm/Central Locking remote control transmitter. There are 3 buttons inthe CID for locking, unlocking and opening the boot. There is also an emergency mechanical key in case the Easy-Go system is not working and for activating/deactivating the passenger Air Bag module.767this key does not allow the vehicle to be started up.There is no longer an ignition lock barrel in the vehicle but a button in the dashboard for the key on and key off and starting the vehicle. As there is no longer a mechanical key, the steering lock function is achived electrically by means of a unit integrated with an electronic control unit connected to the CAN.The door/boot handles are also slightly different to normal; they have 2 switches and are capable of carrying out 2 types of manoeuvre starting from a stable position:HANDLE PULLING: the handle can be pulled towards the outside opening the door.HANDLE PRESSING: the handle can be pressed inwards controlling the locking of the locks (NOTE the boot also works like a door)The search for the CID for opening the doors takes place by means of 5 external aerials, the one for the starting enablement takes place by means of 3 internal aerials. The RF remote control is also used for the door opening/closing signal768It is possible that the moment the starting knob is turned the system is not capable of recognizing the CID becase it is not working or because the CID battery is run down. In this case the CID should be placed in the garage position, i.e. on the old immobilizer aerial located in the centre console. At the key on the aerial is supplied the same way as for the conventional Code and the magnetic field produced "activates" the transponder in the CID which, if recognized, enables starting. For more detailsand Descriptions and Operation 5580E ANTI-THEFT DEVICE .

Operational description - PASSIVE ENTRY - Fiat STILO 1.9 JTD 8v Fino a 04/2005

The Passive Entry control unit M64 is present if the ignition key/switch is missing and controls and regulates the entire vehicle access system. The control unit M64 is supplied - at pin 31 - by the line protected by fuse F63 of the luggage compartment control unit B45; pin 10 of M64 is earthed.Numerous aerials survey the exterior and interior of the vehicle, detecting the presence of the CID and sending signals to the control unit M64outside the vehicle:right front door RF aerial for Passive Entry P95 connected to pins 14 and 35;left front door RF aerial for Passive Entry P94 connected to pins 13 and 24;right rear door RF aerial for Passive Entry P97 connected to pins 16 and 37;left rear door RF aerial for Passive Entry P96 connected to pins 15 and 36;rear bumper RF aerial for Passive Entry P98 connected to pins 11 and 32;inside the vehicle:RF aerial in dashboard for Passive Entry P78 connected to pins 41 and 42;RF aerial on tunnel for Passive Entry P77 connected to pins 18 and 39;RF aerial inside luggage compartment for Passive Entry P100The door opening/closing signal coming from the RF aerial-receiver P93 is connected to pins 21 and 31 of connector B of M1; this door opening/closing signal is sent via the CAN to the Body Computer M1 and the control unit M64.The Passive Entry RF aerial P99 is connected to pins 19 and 40 of M64; it manages the GARAGE function when the CID battery is run down. There are switches on the four door handles that control the opening of the Passive Entry motors:switch I22 on the right front door is connected to pins 4 and 5 of M64 and to control unit M67;switch I23 on the left front door is connected to pins 2 and 3 of M64 and to control unit M66;switch I24 on the left rear door is connected to pins 6 and 23 of M64 and to control unit M63;switch I25 on the right front door is connected to pins 24 and 25 of M64 and to control unit M63;the boot opening switch I33 is connected to pin 26 of M64 (boot opening signal from handle) and to the Body Computer M1, pin 35 of connector E (boot closing signal)the switch located in unit F52 is connected to pin 27 of M64 (boot closing signal from the outside)The locking/unlocking function for the Passive Entry motors: is controlled by the driver''s door control unit M66, the passenger door control unit M67 and the luggage compartment control unit (which manages the rear doors) M63; all of these are connected via the CAN line to the Body Computer M1.In accordance with the logic illustrated, the control unit M66 and M67 control the Passive Entry geared motors for the front door locks (driver''s side N50, passenger side N51) from pins 1 and 2 of connector D.The operation is controlled by special electronics M122 (driver''s door) and M123 (passenger door): these devices are supplied by the line for fuse F32 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2The control unit M63 controls the Passive Entry geared motors for the rear door locks (left N55 and right N56) from pins A6 and C4 of connector A or A3 and C3 of connector B.The operation is controlled by special electronics M124 (left door) and M125 (right door): these devices are supplied by the line for fuse F36 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2 .
