Description - SIDE LIGHTS / NO. PLATE LIGHTS - Fiat ULYSSE 2.0 16v fino a 04/03
The side lights come on when the ring nut on the steering column switch unit left lever is turned to the first position (steering wheel node).The side lights control function is activated through the enablement signals with the key in position M and the command from the steering column switch unit: all the side lights and also the number plate lights and numerous other interior lights for lighting the passenger compartment, instruments and controls are activated together with the side lights (these are described and explained in the wiring diagrams for the relevant components).Activation/deactivation information is sent via the CAN network: in this way, the side lights warning light in the instrument panel is also activated. The instrument panel also activates the nightime lighting.The side lights can also be activated automatically, using the AUTO button on the steering column switch unit: this function is achieved by means of an infrared dusk sensor located in the windscreen.Activation and deactivation is accompanied by an auditory warning signal.

The command to switch on the side/no. plate lights is supplied by the steering wheel node control unit M093 to the body computer node M001. The signal travels via the CAN which connects the two control units.The steering wheel node control unit M093 receives a supply (pin 5 connector A) through the line protected by fuse F11, located in the body computer node M001; it receives a supply via the CAN (pin 6 connector A) from the line protected by fuse F16, located in the body computer node M001.On receiving the command, the body computer node M001 energizes the relay coil thereby providing a power supply:
