The vehicle is equipped with two main in the headlamps.The main beams are switched on by the steering column switch unit:with the dipped beams on, by pushing the lever towards the dashboard (stable mode)in flashing mode, by pulling the lever toward the steering wheel (unstable mode)A special relay in the engine compartment junction unit controls the activation of the main beams via two lines protected by specific fuses.The main beam activation relay is managed by the body computer: relay excitation is activated by enablement signals with key in position M and a specific stalk switch command.Activation/deactivation information is sent via the CAN network: in this way, the main beam warning light is activated in the instrument panel.The body computer also manages the dipped beam maintenance function: when the main beams are turned on, the body computer keeps the dipped beams on.

Operational Description - MAIN BEAM HEADLAMPS - Fiat ULYSSE 2.2 16V JTD fino a 04/03

The command to switch on the main beam headlamps is supplied by the steering wheel node control unit M093 to the body computer node M001. The signal travels via the CAN which connects the two control units.The steering wheel node control unit M093 receives a supply (pin 5 connector A) through the line protected by fuse F11, located in the body computer node M001; it receives a supply via the CAN (pin 6 connector A) from the line protected by fuse F16, located in the body computer node M001.The body computer node M001, in turn, informs the engine compartment junction unit B001, via the CAN, of the request to switch on the main beam headlamps.The relay inside the engine compartment junction unit B001 is energized, supplying the front light clusters F010 and F011; the line is protected by fuses F11 and F12 both housed in the junction unit.The warning light is switched on by the milometer warning lights node M140 which communicates with the instrument panel E050 and the body computer node M001 via the CAN.The instrument panel E050 and the milometer warning lights node M140 receive a supply via the CAN (pin 13 of E50 and pin 4 of M140) through the line protected by fuse F24 of the body computer M001.
