The vehicle is equipped with two high beams in the headlamps. The high beams are activated by the stalk switch:- with the dipped beams on, by pushing the lever towards the dashboard (stable mode);- in flashing mode, by pulling the lever toward the steering wheel (unstable mode). The switching on of the main beam headlamps is managed by the body computer which activates them after having received the enablement signals from the key in the on position and from the control on the steering column switch unit.Activation/deactivation information is sent via the CAN network: in this way, the main beam warning light is activated in the instrument panel. The body computer also manages the low beam maintenance function: keeping the dipped headlamps on if the main beams are activated.
The command to switch on the main beam headlamps is supplied by the steering wheel node control unit M093 via the CAN line (pins 1 and 3 of connector A) to the body computer node M001 (at pins 5 and 3 of connector G respectively). The steering wheel node control unit M093 is connected to earth C015 (connector A) via pin 4 of connector A and is supplied by two lines: one, from pin 11 of connector B of the body computer node M001 at pin 5 of connector A; the other, from pin 1 of connector G of M001 at pin 4 of connector D, protected by fuse F04.In turn, the body computer node M001 informs the engine compartment junction unit B001 (pins 12 and 11 of connector F) of the request to switch on the main beam headlamps via the CAN line (pins 25 and 27 of connector E).The engine compartment junction unit B001 operates relay J148 at pin 1A via pin 28 of connector G. The latter (J148) receives a power supply at pin 3A from pin G38 of connector B of the additional fuse box B098 through a line protected by fuse F38 and from pin 5A supplies pins 2 of the left F010 and right F011 front headlamps. The switching on of this special warning light is managed by the milometer warning light node M140 which communicates, via the CAN (pins 2 and 5) with the instrument panel E050 (pins 6 and 12) and the body computer node M001 (pins 8 and 10 connector D).The body computer node M001 supplies the milometer warning lights node M140, at pin 4 and the instrument panel E050 at pin 13, via pin 6 of connector D. This line is protected by fuse F14.
