Description - WINDSCREEN WASH/WIPE - Fiat ULYSSE 2.2 16V JTD fino a 04/03
The windscreen wash/wipe system is activated by the lever located on the right of the steering wheel, with the following functions: there are five possible positions for the lever, turning it in a clockwise direction, corresponding to:
Operational Description - WINDSCREEN WASH/WIPE - Fiat ULYSSE 2.2 16V JTD fino a 04/03
The command to switch on the windscreen wiper and the windscreen washer is given by the steering wheel node control unit M093 to the body computer node M001. The signal travels via the CAN which connects the two control units. The steering wheel node control unit M093 receives a supply (pin 5 connector A) through the line protected by fuse F11, located in the body computer node M001; it receives a supply via the CAN (pin 6 connector A) from the line protected by fuse F16, located in the body computer node M001.The body computer node M001 informs the engine compartment junction unit B001, via the CAN, of the request to activate the windscreen wiper and/or washer. The body computer node M001 supplies the coils for the relays, housed inside the engine compartment junction unit B001, connected in series, from pin 5 connector M. When the main relay is energized it closes its internal contact providing a direct battery supply for the secondary relay from the line protected by fuse F17.The secondary relay switches the supply from pin 9 to pin 1 connector F of M001 to the motor N015.When the electric motor reaches the end of travel position, it sends an earth signal to pin 3 connector M of M001.The engine compartment junction unit B001 is informed via the CAN of the windscreen wiper motor being in the end of travel position and switches the supply once again to pin 9 connector F allowing the windscreen wiper electric motor to return to the starting position. The rain sensor K085 receives an earth at pin 2 and sends signals to the body computer node M001 - pins 14 and 3 of connector L - which manages the automatic operation in relation to the weather conditions. The electric motor N022 carries out a dual windscreen and rearscreen washer function depending on the input of the motor power supply. For the windscreen washer function, the direct battery supply, protected by fuse F14, is provided by pin 14 connector F of the engine compartment junction unit B001 to the electric motor N022 whilst the earth is sent from pin 11.In addition to being protected by a specific fuse, the power supply provided is operated by a special relay also housed in the engine compartment junction unit.
