The rearscreen wiper is activated by turning the ring nut on the end of the lever on the right of the steering wheel.The operation of the rearscreen wiper motor is controlled intermittently by the electronic device that also manages the windscreen wash/wipe function.Pushing the lever gently towards the steering wheel activates the rearscreen washer function, via the windscreen washer (two way) pump, which rotates in the opposite direction and sends the detergent fluid towards the back following the same control logic: the rearscreen wiper is activated and then, when the rearscreen washer command ends, an additional stroke is carried out.With the windscreen wipers working, if reverse gear is engaged, the rearscreen wiper is automatically activated: this function is managed by the Body Computer which sends the steering column switch unit electronic device this information coming from the reversing lights function control logic [EL2022].The rearscreen wash/wipe function can only be activated with the key in position M.

Operational Description - REAR WINDOW WASH/WIPE - Fiat ULYSSE 2.2 16V JTD fino a 04/03

The command to switch on the rearscreen wiper and the rearscreen washer is supplied by the steering wheel node control unit M093 to the body computer node M001. The signal travels via the CAN which connects the two control units.The steering wheel node control unit M093 receives a supply (pin 5 connector A) through the line protected by fuse F11, located in the body computer node M001; it receives a supply via the CAN (pin 6 connector A) from the line protected by fuse F16, located in the body computer node M001.The body computer node M001 informs the engine compartment junction unit B001, via the CAN, of the request to activate the rearscreen wiper and/or rearscreen washer.The steering wheel node control unit M093 receives a supply (pin 5 connector A) from the line protected by fuseThe electric motor N016 is supplied by the body computer node M001 from pin 5 connector H by the line protected by fuse F02 and is operated by a specific relay both housed in the body computer node.When the body computer node receives a request to switch on the rearscreen wiper, the electric motor is supplied at pin 1; when the end of travel position is reached, the switch inside the motor sends a signal from pin 2 to the body computer node M001, pin 9 connector I.The command for the automatic activation when reverse gear is engaged arrives from the reversing switch I020 [EL2022] which sends it to pin 5 connector B of the body computer node M001 with the supply provided by the engine compartment junction unit B001 through the line protected by fuse F01.The electric motor N022 carries out a dual windscreen and rearscreen washer function depending on the input of the motor power supply. For the rearscreen washer function, the supply, protected by fuse F14, is provided by pin 11 connector F of the engine compartment junction unit B001 at the electric motor N022, whilst the earth is sent from pin 14.In addition to being protected by a specific fuse, the power supply provided is operated by a special relay also housed in the engine compartment junction unit.
