The rearscreen wiper is activated by turning the ring nut on the end of the lever on the right of the steering wheel.The operation of the rearscreen wiper motor is controlled intermittently by the electronic device that also manages the windscreen wash/wipe function.The rear window washer function is activated by pressing the above stalk slightly towards the steering wheel.This function is achieved with the (two-way) windscreen washer pump: except it is made to turn in the opposite direction to send washer fluid to the rear of the vehicle.Once the rear wiper is activated, an extra sweep is made when the rear window washer control ceases.When reverse is engaged with the windscreen wiper operating, the rear wiper is operated automatically.The rearscreen wash/wipe function can only be activated with the key in position M.
Steering wheel node control unit M093 receives power (pin 5 connector A and pin 4 connector D) from body computer node M001 (pin 11 connector B and pin 1 connector G respectively) via two lines, of which only the second is protected by fuse F04.The rear wiper and rear washer activation command is sent from steering wheel node control unit M093 (pins 1 and 3 connector A) to body computer node M001 (pins 5 and 3 of connector G respectively). The signal travels via the CAN line.Body computer node M001, in turn, sends a signal (pins 25 and 27 of connector E), via the CAN line, to engine compartment junction unit B001 (pins 12 and 11 respectively of connector F) to operate electric pump N022 and simultaneously supply (pin 5 connector H and pin 1 connector L) rear wiper motor N016 (pins 1 and 2 respectively).Electric motor N022 performs the dual function of operating the screen washer and rear window washer. It is supplied at pin 2 of engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 2 connector G) via a line protected by fuse F03, and the signal returns to pin 1 connected to the same control unit (pin 5 connector G).Reversing switch I020 (or automatic transmission solenoid unit L050), when activated, carries an earth signal (pin 1 or A1) to engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 13 or pin 15 connector F). The junction unit communicates the event (pins 11 and 12 connector F) via the CAN line to body computer node M001 (pins 27 and 25 connector E respectively), which (pin 5 connector H and pin 1 connector L) supplies rear wiper motor N016 (pins 1 and 2 respectively).
