In the case of poor visibility it is possible to activate the demisting of the rearscreen and the exterior rear view mirrors.The heating resistances for these components absorb a considerable amount of energy and are therefore controlled and, possibly, deactivated after they have been working for a certain length of time: the demisting is subject to a delay timer, managed by the Body Computer, according to the following logic:key in position Mengagement signal coming from the special button in the climate control system control panel.Under these circumstances the resistances remain supplied for a maximum of 20 minutes, then the supply is cut off.The supply is cut off in the following conditions:key in position S;disengagement signal from the button;battery voltage below 8.5 V;after the first 10 minutes of operation if the engine speed is below 1000 rpm.767The control logic for the climate control system control unit also intervenes in the following situations:MAX-DEF command from the climate control: the defrosting is activated according to the logic described previouslyautomatic defrosting at low outside temperatures: the heated rear windscreen is automatically switched on at low outside temperatures.The rearscreen defrosting circuit is controlled by a specific relay and protected by a fuse, both in the body computer node.The defrosting circuit for the door mirrors, on the other hand, is protected by another body computer node fuse and is controlled by the door control units, in accordance with the logic transmitted by the Body Computer via the CAN.

Operational Description - HEATED REAR WINDSCREEN AND DOOR MIRROR DEFROSTING - Fiat ULYSSE 2.2 16V JTD fino a 04/03

The command for activating the heated rear windscreen is given by the special switched housed in the climate control system control unit M070. The command is sent to the body computer node M001 (pins 6, 8 and 10 connector D) via the CAN; the supply via the CAN is protected by fuse F24 of the body computer M001.The control unit M070 communicates the information that the heated rear windscreen is on to the instrument panel E050 as well at pins 5 and 9 and from there to the various displays [EL4010].The body computer node M001 activates the internal relay and supplies the heated rear windscreen P055. The line is protected by fuse F26, also located in the body computer.The defrosting of the door mirrors P060 and P061 is also activated simultaneously. The command is supplied by the body computer node M001 to the door nodes M066 and M067 via the CAN, namely from pins 21, 23, and 24, 26 connector L to pins 14, 3 connector A of the driver''s door node M066 and the passenger door node M067.The door nodes M066 and M067 receive a supply via the CAN (pin 1 connector A) from the line protected by fuse F04 of the body computer M001.The door nodes M066 and M067 are supplied by the body computer node at pin 16 connector from the line protected by fuse F09.Both the door nodes supply the internal resistance for the door mirrors P060 and P061 from pins 4 and 5 of connector B.
