The vehicle is prepared for the installation of a radio system.This preparation includes:radio supply leads;front power speakers and separate tweeters;rear power speakers and separate tweeters;cables connecting the radio with the speakers;an aerial at the back mounted on the roof and connected by means of a coaxial cable to the radio.The radio circuit is supplied both with the key in position M and it receives a direct supply from the battery (which allows tuning, safety codes, etc. to be programmed).The main radio controls are duplicated on the steering wheel allowing the driver to operate the radio without taking their hands off the steering wheel.To all intents the radio is a CAN node and is connected to the body computer, the instrument panel and the multifuction screen where information relating to the radio is displayed.A special CD cartridge allows up to 6 CDs to be loaded which are then selected through the radio controls. The CD changer is located in the dashboard consoleThe following is also available, depending on the trim level:RADIO with CD player, described in this section;"CONNECT Nav" device (with navigator with pictograms)"CONNECT Nav +" device (with navigator with maps)All the details of the specifications and operations of these radio systems are given in the "OWNER''S HANDBOOK".

Operational Description - RADIO - Fiat ULYSSE 2.2 16V JTD fino a 04/03

The body computer node M001 provides a direct supply, from pin 1 connector D, to the radio P020, pin 7 connector A, via the line protected by fuse F11 of the body computer; the ignition-controlled supply, from pin 4 connector D, to pin 6 of connector of P020 arrives via the line protected by fuse F07 of the body computer.It converses, from pins 2 and 3 of connector A, via the CAN, with the milometer and warning lights control unit node M140, at pins 6 and 3, and the instrument panel E050.A supply for the CAN is received at pin 4 connector A from the body computer node M001 from pin 3 connector D from the line protected by fuse F20 for the control unit.The radio P020 is connected (switched supply) to the aerial P025 from pin 5 connector A and to earth at pin 8.The radio P020 is connected, via connector B, to the various speakers located inside the vehicle:from pins 1, 2 it is connected to the speakers P048 (right rear tweeter) and P121 (right rear speaker);it is connected, from pins 3, 4, to the speakers P036 (speaker in right front door) and P046 (right front tweeter);it is connected, from pins 5, 6, to the speakers P035 (speaker in left front door) and P045 (left front tweeter);from pins 7, 8 it is connected to the speakers P047 (left rear tweeter) and P120 (left rear speaker);Connector C of radio P020 is connected to CD loader P075. Pins 13, 14, 17 are used to exchange data vfia the CAN. Pins 15, 16 of radio P020 supply the earth reference and direct battery supply respectively to the CD loader. Pins 19, 20 are the left and right audio inputs respectively. Pin 18 is the earth reference of the audio channel.It is possible, via the steering wheel node M093, to control several of the radio functions using the radio controls on the steering wheel; this information is sent by the steering wheel node control unit M093 to the body computer node M001, via the CAN which connects the two control units.The steering wheel node control unit M093 receives a supply (pin 5 connector A) from the line protected by fuse F11, located in the body computer node M001; it receives a supply via the CAN (pin 6 connector A) from the line protected by fuse F16 located in the body computer node M001Information is exchanged, via the CAN, between the instrument panel node E050, the radio P020 and the multifunction screen M172.
