The vehicle is equipped with two reversing lights located in the rear light clusters.The reversing lights are activated each time reverse gear is engaged: there is a switch on the outside of the gearbox casing.The reversing lights circuit is supplied when the key is in position M.The signal confirming engagement is managed by the Body Computer. The information is then forwarded to the steering column switch unit (steering wheel node control unit) which:- if the windscreen wipers are working, activates the automatic operation of the rearscreen wiper;- activates the electro-chrome rear view mirror;- enables the parking sensor control unit.
The command to switch on the reversing lights is sent by switch I020 located on the gearbox casing.The switch is connected (pin 1) to the engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 13 connector F) which receives an earth signal the moment reverse gear is engaged.In turn, the engine compartment junction unit B001 informs the Body Computer node M001 (pins 25 and 27 of connector E respectively), via the CAN line (pins 12 and 11 of connector F) of the request to switch on the reversing lights. The latter (pins 15 and 6 of connector H respectively) controls the switching on of the rear lights in the left rear light cluster F030 and the right one F031 (pin 4).In addition, the Body computer node M001 informs all the control units involved that reverse gear has been engaged via the CAN.On versions with automatic transmission, there is no reversing light switch on the gearbox I020: this function is carried out by a special contact "R" of the automatic transmission solenoid valve assembly L050.L050 is also connected (pin A5) to the junction unit B001 (pin 15 connector F).
