DescriptionThe vehicle has two additional fog lights in the front bumper. The fog lights are activated through a buttonin the control panel in the centre of the dashboard; when the lightsare on the warning light in the instrument panel comes on.A special relay, in the engine compartmentcontrol unit, controls the switching on of the fog lights via aline protected by a special fuse. The relay is managed by the BodyComputer: the relay is energized in the following conditions:go ahead signal with key in ON position (INT);signal coming from the switchside lights on signal. In addition, if the side lights are switchedoff, the fog lights are also switched off even if the button ispressed. When the side lights are switched on again, the fog lightscome on again. If the ignition key is switched OFF andthen turned back to the ON position, the operating button must bepressed once again in order to turn the fog lights back on.
Functional description The fog lights activated signal reaches pin 20 of connector Hof M1 from the control button on switch panel H90. The side lights activated signal is sentto pin 28 of connector G of the Body Computer M1 from thesteering column switch unit H52427899SeeE2010SIDE LIGHTS / NO. PLATE LIGHTS . The 'ignition ON' signal (INT) for the switchH1 reaches the underdashboard control unit B2 at pin 11 ofconnector H and from there moves on to the Body Computer M1 (pin9 of connector F). The Body Computer M1 controls the supplyfor the fog lights by sending an earth signal to the engine compartmentjunction unit B1 from pin 8 of connector A of M1 which energizesthe relay T14: this supplies the fog lights F15 (left) and F16 (right). Thecircuit is protected by fuse F30 of control unit B2 . The Body Computer M1 is connected, viathe CAN line, to the instrument panel E50 to manage the fog lightson warning light.
