DescriptionThe vehicle is fitted with an extra bright rear fog lamp, locatedin the left rear light cluster. The rear fog lamp is activated using thebutton in the control panel in the centre of the dashboard; whenthe lights are on, the warning light in the instrument panel comeson. The switching on of the rear foglamp is managed by the Body Computer: it is activated in the followingconditions:go ahead signal with key in ON position (INT);signal coming from the switch;side lights on signal.headlamps signal (dipped or main beam) or fog lights on.If one of the go ahead signals is missing, the button must be pressed again in order to switch the rear foglamps on.The correct operation of the lightsis controlled by the rear fog lamp 'check' function: the followingare checked:open circuit or bulb missingshort circuit to earth (bulb short circuit or wiring shortcircuit to earth)short circuit to Vbatt (wiring short circuit to Vbatt)If one of the situations described aboveis detected, the Body Computer notifies the CAN of the failure state:a special 'failure' warning light comes on in the instrument paneland, at the same time, the information is shown on the display.
Functional description The rear fog lamps activation signal reaches pin 35 of connectorG of M1 from the control button on the switch unit H90 . The side lights activated signal is sentto pin 28 of connector G of the Body Computer M1 from thesteering column switch unit H52427899SeeE2010SIDE LIGHTS / NO. PLATE LIGHTS .;The dipped beam activation signal is sent to pin 2 of connectorI of the Body Computer M1 from the stalk unit H5 SeeE2011 DIPPED HEADLAMPS ,the fog lights activation signal reaches pin 20 of connector H ofbody computer M1 [see EL2030]. The 'ignition ON' signal (INT) for the switchH1 reaches the underdashboard control unit B2 at pin 11 ofconnector H and from there moves on to the Body Computer M1 (pin9 of connector F). The Body Computer M1 controls the supplyfor the rear fog lamp in the left rear light cluster F30 from pin31 of connector E. The Body Computer M1 is connected, viathe CAN line, to the instrument panel E50 to manage the rear foglamps on warning light.
