DescriptionThe sunroof offers extra ventilation for the interior compartmentand ensures a rapid air exchange, if required, thus increasing passengercomfort. This is an extensive glass roof, the frontpart of which can move and the rear part of which is fixed. An interior blind, which is rolled in theactual roof lining, can be operated manually and guarantees protectionagainst the rays of the sun. The system is operated by a switch, locatednear the front courtesy light, which controls a motor with two differentoperating modes: press one end of the switch to raise the roof in'compass' fashion, and press the other end of the switch to slidethe roof open and so pull the blind. The movement of the roof is controlledeither manually or automatically, in accordance with the followinglogic:if the button is pressed for between 60 and 300 milliseconds, the operation is manual: the roof only moves when the button ispressed;if the button is pressed for over 300 milliseconds, theoperation is instead automatic: even if the relevant button is released, the roof continues to close/open as far as the end of travel oruntil the anti-crush safety system intervenes, if applicable;a subsequent press on the button during movement of theroof locks it in its current position;if the button is pressed for less than 60 milliseconds,it is ignored (it is considered to have been knocked accidentally). The electronic control unit for the roofalso include a special anti-crush safety function: whilst the roofis closing, the movement is interrupted or reversed briefly if anobstacle is detected by a Hall effect sensor located on the motor. The windows are automatically closed bya specific prolonged command (over 3 seconds) sent by the remotecontrol button, if the ignition is off;The remote control receiver aerial is connecteddirectly to the Body Computer which contains the electronics forthe actual receiver.
Functional description Switch H60 which controls the sun roof and the actual roofmotor N35 (enablement supply at pin 1 of coupling D45) are suppliedby the line controlled by the ignition (INT) for fuse F49 in thejunction unit under the dashboard B2. Pin 3 of D45 receives the proper supplyfrom the line for fuse F58 located in the additional fuse box B098; pin4 of D45 is earthed. Pin 6 of D45 receives the roof closuresignal, in accordance with the logic described above, pin 5 similarlyreceives the closure signal; both signals come from switch H60. Pin 2 of D45 receives the speedometersignal from pin 23 of connector H of the Body Computer M1. The aerial-receivier P93 sends theBody Computer M1 the signal to open/close the doors and alsowindows and sunroof, by connecting to pins 21 and 31 of connectorB 2427981SeeE3040CENTRAL LOCKING .
