DescriptionThe headlamp beam orientation in accordance with the load isadjusted via the adjustment device located directly in the headlamps;it tilts them as appropriate in order to lower the light beam ifthe vehicle is particularly laden, and raises it when the load decreases. Two buttons, located on the controlpanel in the centre of the dashboard, allow the adjustment of theheadlamps from positions 0 to 3:position 0 - one or two persons on the front seats, fullfuel tank, car fully equipped and in running order;position 1 - five persons;position 2 - five persons with luggage compartment full(about 50 kg);position 3 - driver and 300 kg load, all stowed in boot. The set value is memorised and displayedon the instrument panel. The control logic described above is manageddirectly by the instrument panel node. The device is enabled only when the dippedbeam headlamps are on. The relay which controls the switching onof the dipped beam headlamps 2427903SeeE2011DIPPED HEADLAMPS alsosupplies the adjustment motors built into the headlamps; this relayfor switching on the dipped beam headlamps is managed by the Body Computer:the relay is energized by enablement signals of ignition on (INT)and the stalk unit dipped beam control.
Functional description The dipped headlamps activation signal is sent to pin 2 of connectorI of the Body Computer M1 from the steering column switch unitH5 SeeE2011 DIPPED HEADLAMPS . The Body Computer M1 controls the supplyto the dipped beam headlamps, sending an earth signal to the unitunder the dashboard B2 from pin 8 which energizes the relay T1; thissupplies the dipped beam headlamps and gives enablement to the headlampadjustment motors F10 (left) and F11 (right). The headlamp adjustment control, locatedin the unit H90, sends a control signal - when the relevant buttonsare pressed - to the instrument panel E50 - pin 11 of connectorB: the internal logic of E50 then sends the actual control signalto the motors, from pin 5 of connector A, while pin 6 of connectorA receives the enablement signal (dipped beam lights on). These control signals flow through underfaciacontrol unit pin 1 of connector A of B2 to the motors in headlampsF10 and F11.

Prepare the vehiclecomplete with spare wheel, tools, fluids, fuel reserve and driveron board.Check that the tyre inflation pressureis correct.Place the headlamp alignment switch inposition '0'.Position the vehicle on a flat surface, perpendicular to a screen or an opaque surface, 10 metres away, which contains the following lines.1. V - V: vertical line corresponding to the trace of the planeof symmetry of the vehicle.2. C - C: traces of the vertical planes passing through the referencecentres of the light clusters.3. HC - HC: horizontal line corresponding to the height from theground of the reference centres for the light clusters.4. AC - AC: horizontal line 12 cm below the HC - HC line.5.
