DescriptionThe vehicle climate control system involves a duct/distributorunit with a heater, controlled via two knobs in the dashboard (eachknob carries out a dual function, one with an outer ring nut, onewith a proper knob in the centre:the ring nut for the left knob mechanicallycontrols the mixture flap between hot and cold air; the inner knobelectrically controls the ventilation of the air at four differentspeeds;the ring nut for the right knob, mechanicallyoperated via a cable, controls the opening of the flaps which regulatethe distribution of air flows; the inner knob mechanically controls theengagement of the recirculation function. For more details, . There is also a red button in the controlunit for switching on the hazard warning lights 2427911SeeE2020DIRECTION INDICATORS / HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS anda button for switching on the heated rear windscreen 2427965SeeE3030HEATED REAR WINDSCREEN AND DOOR MIRROR DEFROSTING . The fan is supplied by a line protectedby a special fuse and controlled by a special relay in the enginecompartment control unit. The operation of the fan at different speedsis achieved through a resistive divider, protected by a specialthermal fuse to prevent overheating. The control unit is supplied by a line controlledby the ignition and protected by a fuse in the underdashboard controlunit.
Functional description Fan N85 is supplied when the ignition is switched on (INT/A)from the line protected by fuse F31 of the junction unit B2 underthe facia and controlled by relay T8 and dedicated fuse F8 of theengine compartment junction unit B1. Control knob H81 controls the fan atdifferent speeds via regulator O30: the control signal - earth signal- varies according to knob position and crosses or does not crossthe coils of regulator O30 to determine four different voltage signalsfor fan N85, which thus turns at 4 different speeds.
