DescriptionThe vehicle may be equipped with a tow hook with type approvalfor trailers, caravans, or towing in general.This device should conform with the lawsin force and should be fitted following the instructions enclosedin the fitting kit. This fitting kit, in addition to the hookitself, also includes an electronic control unit for the operationof the trailer exterior lights as well as specific wiring for connectingthe actual control unit with the rear lights of the vehicle andwith a specific connection ( D73 ) located in the luggage compartmenton the right hand side. 767If a trailer is connected, theoperation of the parking sensors is automatically inhibited.The trailer control unit is supplied viathe protected circuit by a special fuse in the junction unit underthe dashboard.767 On some versions/markets the connection( D73) is not supplied and therefore the fitting kit should havespecific wiring with two terminals that are directly connected tothe power supply and to the control unit for the parking sensors
Functional description The connection for the vehicle for connecting the trailer D73 receivesa direct supply, at pin 1, from the line protected by fuse F36 ofjunction unit B2 . An inhibition signal, on the other hand,is sent via pin 2 to pin 14 of the parking sensors control unit M84 SeeE3090 PARKING SENSOR , whichdisables the operation of this system. If the connection D73 is not supplied,the wiring for the fitting kit should contain a terminal connecteddirectly to the supply protected by fuse F36 - pin 13 of connectorD of B2 and a terminal connected to the parking sensors controlunit M84, pin 14.
