Audi A8 L Quattro 2001 - IDENTIFICATION
NOTE: After reconnecting the battery be sure to reactivate the radio, clock, power windows and engine according to instructions in the Owner's Manual.

Audi A8 L Quattro 2001 - ENGINE IDENTIFICATION
For A8 models with 4.2L V8 Engine Code AKB and AUX and S8 4.2L V8 models with Engine Code AYS, the engine code and serial numbers are located on the left side of the cylinder block. See Fig. 1. The engine number is also listed on a label on the belt cover. The engine code is included on the vehicle data label.
