N35Sun roof motor7030B
DescriptionThe sunroof offers extra ventilation for the interior compartmentand ensures a rapid air exchange, if required, thus increasing passengercomfort. The moving part of the roof consists ofa glass panel and an internal sliding blind which enters the actualroof lining. The latter can also be operated manually and guaranteesprotection against the sun's rays. The system is operated by a switch, locatednear the front courtesy light, which controls a motor with two differentoperating modes: press one end of the switch to raise the roof in"compass" fashion, and press the other end of the switchto slide the roof open and so pull the blind: when the switch isreleased, the roof stops in the position it is in at that moment.when the roof is closed, the blind is carried along a short distanceby the forward motion of the panel. The entire system consists of a singleunit which comprises:the control unit A, which manages the operation of theroof;the actuating motor C;the control switch B;the end-of-travel switches D, located on a ring nut outsidethe motor, which stop the motor when the roof is fully open or closed. For more details, 3232980see DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION:7030SUN ROOF AND HOOD . The sunroof circuit is protected by a specificfuse, and controlled by a relay which supplies other "ignition-operated"services. The fuse is located inside the junction unit, and therelay is located on the right hand side of the facia. The sunroof can only be operated with theignition on.
Functional description The optional services relay J60 controls the roof circuit(as well as the electric rear windows and heated seats: 3234104SeeE3051ELECTRIC REAR WINDOWS and 3234156SeeE3075HEATED SEATS ). The coil of the relay J60 is energizedwhen the ignition is switched on (INT/A) by the line for fuse B10 upto 2/99 or fuse F6 of the additional fuse box B98B from2/99, while the supply at the relay contact arrives from the battery, throughthe line for maxifuse J/B2 (of B5 up to 2/99 or B99 from2/99). This supply passes through the sunroof B14 upto 2/99 or F1 of B98B from 2/99., which protects thecircuit, and reaches the sunroof motor N35 , at pin 1: itis actually a single unit which includes: the control unit A, theswitch B, the motor itself C and the limit switches D. The unit is also connected to earth C20 atpin 3. The switch is therefore active when theignition is on (INT/A). The control unit controls engine movementaccording to switch position.

Follow these precautions.769On batteries with an opticam hydrometer, electrolyte level and battery charge status can be monitored qualitativelyby examining the indicator colour:a light, bright colour indicates low electrolytelevel: top up with distilled water;a dark colour without a green area in thecentre indicates that the electrolyte level is correct but chargeis low: recharge the battery;a dark colour with a green area in themiddle indicates that both electrolyte level and charge status arecorrect: no action is necessary. For more details 3238420See subassembly5530 CURRENT GENERATOR . 768Proceed as follows.Check the battery voltage without loadusing the test device recommended by the Service outlets (e.g. 'MICRO360').Depending on the voltage values measured, which define the state of charge of the battery, proceed as follows: If the voltage without load is less than12.10 V, replace the battery ( 32384295530B10battery - r+r ). If the voltage without load is over 12.10V but less than 12.50 V, recharge the battery ( 32384305530B14battery - recharge ). If the voltage without load is over 12.50V, the battery is efficient. If necessary, top up the electrolyte asfollows.Carefully remove the cap strip.Top up with distilled and deionized water, taking care not to allow electrolyte to splash out.768
