In the case of poor visibility it is possible to activate the demisting of the rearscreen and the exterior rear view mirrors.The heating resistances for these components absorb a considerable amount of energy and are therefore controlled and, possibly, deactivated after they have been working for a certain length of time: the demisting is subject to a delay timer, managed by the Body Computer, according to the following logic:- key in position M;- engagement signal coming from the special button in the climate control system control panel.Under these circumstances the heater coils remain supplied for a maximum of 20 minutes, then the supply is cut off.The supply is cut off in the following conditions:- key in position S;- disengagement signal from the button;- battery voltage below 8.5 V;- after the first 10 minutes of operation if the engine speed is below 1000 rpm.767 The control logic for the climate control system control unit also intervenes in the following situations:- MAX-DEF command from the climate control: the defrosting is activated according to the logic described previously;- automatic defrosting at low outside temperatures: the heated rear windscreen is automatically switched on at low outside temperatures.
The heated rear window operation command is supplied by a switch in climate control unit M070 (pins 10, 14, 15 connector A). The command is sent to body computer node M001 (pins 6, 8, 10 connector D respectively) via a CAN line.The control unit M070 (pins 1 and 2 connector A) also communicates the information that the heated rear windscreen is activated to the instrument panel E050 (pins 5 and 9) and from there to the various displays.The body computer node M001 simultaneously supplies:- from pins 1 and 9 of connector H, heated rear window P055 at pin 1 of connector A;- from pin 9 of connector F, driver side door control unit M066 and passenger side door control unit M067, both at pin 1 of connector A.The command is supplied by body computer node M001 (pins 36, 38 connector I, for the driver side and pin 38, 40 connector L, for the passenger side) to door control units M066 (pins 20, 19 connector A) and M067 (pins 19,20 connector A) via the CAN line.Control units M066 and M067 (pins 4, 5 connector B) also supply the following: internal heater coil of left door mirror P060 (pin 4, 5 connector B) and right door mirror P061 (pins 4, 5 connector B).
