Dodge Pickup R3500 1998 - IDENTIFICATION POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER

CAUTION: When replacing a blown fuse, it is important to use only a fuse having the correct amperage rating. The use of a fuse with a rating other than indicated may result in a dangerous electrical system overload. If a properly rated fuse continues to blow, it indicates a problem in the circuit that must be corrected.

Vehicle is equipped with an electrical Power Distribution Center (PDC) located in the engine compartment near the battery. See Fig. 1 . The PDC houses plug-in "Maxi" fuses which replace most in-line fusible links. The PDC also contains "Mini" fuses and plug-in "Mini" and "Macro" ISO relays. A label inside the latching cover of the PDC identifies each compartment for ease of replacement, if necessary. To identify the PDC, see Fig. 2 . For fuse identification, see POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER FUSE IDENTIFICATION table.

Dodge Pickup R3500 1998 - JUNCTION BLOCK

CAUTION: When replacing a blown fuse, it is important to use only a fuse having the correct amperage rating. The use of a fuse with a rating other than indicated may result in a dangerous electrical system overload. If a properly rated fuse continues to blow, it indicates a problem in the circuit that must be corrected.

The junction block is located on the extreme left side of the instrument panel. For access, open the driver's door to its full open position. Remove the fuse access cover. See Fig. 3 . A fuse puller is provided to assist removal and replacement of fuses. Fuse holder is located on the back of the cover. Junction block uses blade fuses. The amperage rating of each blade fuse is stamped on top of the fuse body. The fuse bodies are also colored according to amperage rating. For junction block identification, see Fig. 4 . For fuse identification, see JUNCTION BLOCK FUSE IDENTIFICATION table.
