DescriptionThe manual air conditioning system includes the heater and has the function of producing cold, dehumidified air by switching on the compressor and the refrigeration systemThe vehicle climate control system is operated by acting on the two control knobs in the dashboard; each knob carries out a dual function: one with the outer ring nut, one with the actual knob in the centre:the ring nut for the left knob mechanically controls the mixture flap between hot and cold air; the inner knob electrically controls the ventilation of the air at four different speeds;the ring nut for the right knob, mechanically operated via a cable, controls the opening of the flaps which regulate the distribution of air flows; the inner knob mechanically controls the engagement of the recirculation function. There is also a red button in the control unit for switching on the hazard warning lights 2399180SeeE2020DIRECTION INDICATORS / HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS and a button for switching on the heated rear windscreen with the LED showing that it is switched on 2399238SeeE3030HEATED REAR WINDSCREEN AND DOOR MIRROR DEFROSTING . Lastly, there is a button in the control panel for switching the air conditioning compressor on 2399370SeeE6021COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENT . For more details, 2398701Characteristic of working principle5040AIR CONDITIONING CASING AND COMPONENTSThe fan is supplied by a line protected by a special fuse and controlled by a special relay in the engine compartment control unit. The operation of the fan at different speeds is achieved through a resistive divider, protected by a special thermal fuse to prevent overheating. The control unit is supplied by a line controlled by the ignition and protected by a fuse in the underdashboard control unit.
Functional description Fan N85 is supplied when the ignition is switched on (INT/A) from the line protected by fuse F31 of the junction unit B2 under the facia and controlled by the relay T8 dedicated fuse F8 of the engine compartment junction unit B1. Control knob H81 controls the fan at different speeds via regulator O30: the control signal - earth signal - varies according to knob position and crosses or does not cross the coils of regulator O30 to determine four different voltage signals for fan N85, which thus turns at 4 different speeds.23 The fan N85 operates at the first speed if the button for engaging the compressor is pressed, even if the control knob H81 is in position '0' SeeE6021 COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENT .
