Dodge Pickup R1500 1996 - 1996-97 ELECTRICAL Fuses & Circuit Breakers - Pickup & Cab & Chassis
Dodge Pickup R1500 1996 - IDENTIFICATION POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER
CAUTION: When replacing a blown fuse, it is important to use only a fuse having the correct amperage rating. The use of a fuse with a rating other than indicated may result in a dangerous electrical system overload. If a properly rated fuse continues to blow, it indicates a problem in the circuit that must be corrected.
The vehicle is equipped with an electrical power distribution center located in the engine compartment near the battery. See Fig. 1 . To identify the power distribution center, see Fig. 2 . This power center houses plug-in Maxi fuses which replace most in-line fusible links. The power center also contains Mini fuses and plug-in Mini and Macro ISO relays. A label inside the latching cover of the center identifies each component for ease of replacement, if necessary. Maxi fuses and relays can be obtained from your dealer. For fuse identification, see POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER FUSE IDENTIFICATION table.
