DescriptionThe car is equipped with a radio system built into the Integrated Control System (ICS).In addition to the receiver, the system includes:medium-low tone speakers and tweeters at front and rear;leads connecting the radio to the speakers;aerial built into the back window by means of a special power source/amplifier device and connected to the radio set by a coaxial cable. The radio system is operated by pressing the AUDIO button. It includes the following functions:FM/AM radio with RDS/EON functions;audio cassette player with autoreverse; This HIFI version is also fitted with a CD changer and DSP amplifier located in the luggage compartment beside the battery, plus two speakers located on the rear parcel shelf. The radio circuit receives a direct supply from the battery (which allows tuning settings to be stored). protected by a specific junction unit fuseThe amplifier is protected by a specific fuse in the luggage compartment junction unitFull radio specifications and operating instructions are given in the OWNER'S HANDBOOK.
Functional description Conventional connections for radio P20 are connected to the back of the ICS unit: supply connector A and connector B for connection with the DSP amplifier. The radio P20 is supplied directly by the battery at pin 4 of connector A by the line protected by fuse F4 of the junction unit B2. Pin 8 of connector A is earthed. Pin 1 of connector A receives the speedometer signal from the instrument E50 pin 6 of connector B: the same signal is sent to pin 16 of connector B for the amplifier P70. Pin 5 of connector A is connected with the power source/amplifier aerial P25 , which controls the aerial built into the heated rear window. In addition, the radio P20 is connected to the aerial by means of the specific coaxial cable. The MUTE function, activated when connected to the radio phone, is connected to pin 3. 3309684SeeE3580PREPARATION FOR CELLULAR TELEPHONE Cables leave connector C of P20 with signals for the DSP amplifier P70 (from pins 4, 5, 6 and 3 of P20C to pins 13, 12, 7, 5 and 4 of connector B of P70. The amplifier P70 is supplied directly from the battery to pins 8 and 19 of connector A - through the specific fuse F54 of B45; the pins 9 and 20 of connector A are earthed at C34 . Connector A of P70 also sends out the cables carrying the signals to the car's ten loudspeakers:pins 2 and 11 to the front speakers in the right door P36 and P46pins 1 and 10 to the front speakers in the left door P35 and P45pins 5 and 14 to the left rear door speakers P40 and P47pins 15 and 16 to the right rear door speakers P41 and P48pins 4 and 13 to the left rear speaker on the parcel rack P30pins 3 and 12 to the left rear speaker on the parcel rack P31
