DESCRIPTION - ELECTRIC FRONT WINDOWS - Fiat 500 1.3 Multijet

The front door windows are operated by switches located in the middle of the dashboard near the gear lever. On the basis of the signals received from the switches, the Body Computer manages the function according to the following logic:if the button is pressed for between 50 and 300 milliseconds, operation is manual: the glass goes up/down only with the key pressed;f the key is pressed for longer than 300 milliseconds, operation is automatic: even if the button is released, the window continues to close/open until it is in the end of travel position;pressing the button again whilst the window is moving stops it in the position it is in;if the button is pressed for less than 50 milliseconds, this is ignored (it is treated as an accidental knock). The passenger side window only operates automatically during the opening stage. The electric window function operates only with the ignition on, with the following exception: after a key off (ignition OFF or key extracted), for a period of 3 minutes, it is possible to operate the windows; when this period has elapsed the system does not acquire new commands. If one of the doors is opened during the timed period, new commands are longer acquired, but any commands received before the opening of the door are brought to a conclusion. If one of the doors is already open at the key off, any commands received before the opening of the door are brought to a conclusion. The window raising/lowering circuit, operated by two relays integrated in the Body Computer, is supplied by the line protected by two dedicated fuses for the Body Computer. The circuit is excluded during starting.768On this version the windows electronic control does not include an anti-crush safety function. Therefore it is necessary to make sure before or during operation that there is no risk of the passengers being exposed to injury due directly to the movement of the windows or objects dragged along or projected by the actual windows.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - ELECTRIC FRONT WINDOWS - Fiat 500 1.3 Multijet

The front electric window system is managed by controls on the driver''s panel H042 and passenger side H043.Both are connected, at pin 3, to the left dashboard earth C015 and, depending on the pressure exerted, they provide the signals for the Body Computer M001 (connector D). Specifically:to pin 8, for raising the driver''s window;to pin 13, for lowering the driver''s window;to pin 14, for raising the passenger side window;to pin 15, for lowering the passenger side window. On the basis of the signal received the Body Computer M001 (through the combination of the two dedicated relays inside) operates the driver''s electric window motor N060 and the passenger side one N061 respectively from pins 1-19 and 17-18 of connector C; these lines are protected by fuses F47 and F48 of the actual Body Computer. The Body Computer M001 receives a direct battery power supply (pin 1 of connector A) protected by fuse F01 of the engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 18 of connector B); it also receives an ignition-controlled power supply (INT) at pin 11 of connector E.The Body Computer M001 receives the ignition-controlled supply (INT/A), at pin 1 of connector E, which excludes the electric windows system during starting. The Body Computer M001 is also connected to the driver''s dashboard earth C015 via pins 9 and 10 of connector E.
