DESCRIPTION - POWER SUPPLY - Fiat BRAVO 1.4 16v
The electrical system is designed to increase the car''s safety level and prevent the possibility of fires and other consequences of electrical malfunctions. State-of-the-art connectors have been introduced to rule out the possibility of many connection defects.Power is distributed via the junction units and/ or fuses boxes. These are connected to control elements (relays and static actuators) to ensure maximum electrical protection and minimum wiring complexity. All wiring looms have been made modular (sub-assembly composition) by changing the way functions are distributed inside the connectors and replacing welds with short-circuiting joints. The main safety solutions adopted are as follows:- power supplies protected by maxi fuses to cut off the electrical system in the event of a short circuit (see detail below);- the layout of the whole system is optimised to reduce the risk of damage in the event of faults or accidents;- wiring installation has been optimised to reduced incorrect positioning and noise due to vibrations- all wires offer high resistance to abrasion;- the wires in the engine are specially designed to be resistant to high temperatures and are protected by outer casings or piping;- the wires in the passenger compartment are protected by corrugated pipes and napped tape to reduce noise levels;- the main connections come with secondary lock terminals and lever locks or "CPA" to prevent terminal deformation. All systems and electrical equipment are supplied by the battery at a voltage of 12V.The battery is recharged by the alternator during engine operationThe main power supply lines are protocted by MAXI FUSES housed in the engine compartment junction unit; other shunt MAXIFUSES are located outside it.Some circuits are continuously supplied, even with the car at a standstill and the key out because they are connected directly to the battery.Other circuits are supplied by turning the ignition key to various positions:- insert the key and turn it through one click to ON. This supplies numerous circuits that are described as ignition-operated (INT and 15/54 lines);- the second click - AVV position - supplies the starter motor (line "50"). Other circuits (those that absorb most power) are now disconnected to ensure maximum current flow to the motor; (INT/A line)
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - POWER SUPPLY - Fiat BRAVO 1.4 16v
All electrical systems and circuits are supplied by battery A1.The main supply lines are protected by maxi fuses in the maxi fuse box on the battery B99, in particular:- F71: underfacia junction unit B2 supply;- F72: electric steering control unit supply M86The supply for the engine compartment junction unit B1 - connector X - is direct. From there the junction unit under the dashboard B2 and the boot junction unit B45 are supplied via maxifuse F2; the ignition switch H1 is supplied via maxifuse F3There is an additional fuse box B98, next to the maxi fuse box on the battery on one side of the actual battery, with two MIDI maxi fuses which supply the additional heater.Power distribution to the vehicle (INT "ignition-operated, INT/A, "AVV", etc) is managed by the engine compartment junction unit B1 which is connected to ignition switch H1:- ignition switch H1 is supplied via maxifuse F3 of junction unit B1;- ignition switch H1 sends the ignition-controlled signal "15/54" to pin 30 of connector A of B1; the "INT" line, on the other hand, supplies the junction unit under the dashboard B2 - pin 11 of connector H;- ignition switch H1 sends the "AVV" signal which supplies the starter motor- several circuits are disconnected in this position (INT/A line): pin 1 of connector H of the junction unit under the dashboard B2.
