DESCRIPTION - REAR WINDOW WASH/WIPE - Fiat BRAVO 1.4 16v
The rearscreen wiper is activated by turning the wheel on the lever on the right of the steering wheel. The operation of the rearscreen wiper motor is controlled intermittently by the electronic device that also manages the windscreen wash/wipe function. the activation of the rearscreen wiper is synchronized with that of the windscreen wiper, but the frequency is half that of the windscreen wiperPushing the lever gently towards the steering wheel activates the rearscreen washer function, via the windscreen washer (two way) pump, which rotates in the opposite direction and sends the detergent fluid towards the back following the same control logic: the rearscreen wiper is activated and then, when the rearscreen washer command ends, an additional stroke is carried out. With the windscreen wipers working, if reverse gear is engaged, the rearscreen wiper is automatically activated: this function is managed by the steering column switch unit electronic device which receives this information from the reversing lights switchThe rearscreen wiper and rearscreen washer may be operated by a supply that is ignition-operated except during start-up (INT/A).The windscreen wash/wipe circuit is protected by two dedicated fuses (one also protects the rearscreen wash/wipe circuit) and controlled by the ignition-operated exclusion relay located in the junction unit.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - REAR WINDOW WASH/WIPE - Fiat BRAVO 1.4 16v
The electronic device inside the steering column switch unit H5 and the controls on the right lever receive a power supply at pin 11 of connector A from the ignition-controlled line (INT/A) of relay T12 protected by fuse F43, both housed in the junction unit under the dashboard B2.The part of the electronic device of stalk unit H5 that manages the rear wiper function is supplied at pin 2 of connector C from the same ignition-operated line (INT/A) of relay T12 protected by fuse F52 contained in the junction unit under the dashboard B2.Pin 7 of connector A and pin 5 of connector C of H5 are earthed. When the rear wiper function is activated, stalk unit H5 sends a control signal to rear wiper motor N16 from pin 3 of connector C; pin 4 receives an earth signal from the motor end travel cam that stops its operation. The motor N16 is then earthed. The windscreen/rearscreen washer switch, once activated, sends two signals from pins 10 and 12 of connector A which operate the windscreen/rearscreen washer pump N22 directly. The automatic activation signal for the rearscreen wiper reaches pin 3 of connector A.
