DESCRIPTION - DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR - Fiat BRAVO 1.4 16v
The vehicle is equipped with numerous electronic control units with an autodiagnostic function. When a diagnostic tester (Examiner or other device) is connected to these control units, self-diagnosis data can be read (parameters, errors) or the available active diagnostic tests can be carried out.All the diagnostic lines flow into the EOBD connector (European On Board Diagnosis) which conforms with Directive 98/69/CE (EURO 3) - ISO standard J1962 in the Body Computer connector C of M1.The same connector is responsible for the fault diagnosis of the nodes (control units) connected to the low transmission speed B-CAN, while the fault diganosis of the dynamic control high transmission speed C-CAN is carried out by means of a specific K line.The following are checked via the B-CAN line:- junction unit under the dashboard;- instrument panel;- Air Bag control unit;- climate control sytem control unit;- additional heater control unit (if present);- seat control units;- parking sensor control unit;- radio/navigator unit- Bluetooth control unit.For more detailsThe following are monitored via individual diagnostic K lines:- engine management control unit;- robotized gearbox control unit (only on versions with Robotized Gearbox);- ABS control unit;- electric steering control unit;- T.P.M.S. control unit (if present)i- xenon headlamps control units (if fitted).
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION - DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR - Fiat BRAVO 1.4 16v
The EOBD central tester output is built into Body Computer M1 connector C.It is supplied directly by the battery at pin 16 of the line protected by fuse F39 of underfacia junction unit B2 ; pins 4 and 5 are earthed.Pins 6 and 14 are connected to the B-CAN: this network controls and "diagnoses" the junction unit under the dashboard B2, the instrument panel E50, the Air Bag control unit M60, the seat management control units H66 and H67, the integrated radio-telephone-navigator unit P20, the Bluetooth control unit M162, the climate control system control unit M70 or the additional heater M75 and the parking sensor control unit M84.Pin 1 is connected to the K line at ABS control unit M50 (pin 11)andPin 7 is connected, via the K line, to the engine management control unit M10orThe power steering control unit M86 is connected to pin 9The electronics for the gas discharge headlamps F10 and F11 is connected to pin 12.The control unit for the T.P.M.S. M47 is connected to pin 13, at pin 17
