The front interior light includes two courtesy lights with two control switches. The rear interior light consists of a single light. The control switches may be used to select the following front courtesy light operating modes:- with left switch in central position, the lights go on/off when the doors are opened/closed;- with the left courtesy light pressed to the left, the lights are always off;- with the left courtesy light pressed to the rightt, the lights are always on;With the courtesy light off, the right switch can be used to turn on the right or left lights individually according to switch position. Two different timing strategies are used to making it easier to get into and out of the vehicle. The front courtesy light comes on when getting into the vehicle as follows:- for 15 seconds when the front doors are opened;- for seven seconds when one door is closed (within three minutes). In each case, the timing is stopped by turning the ignition key ON.The courtesy light timing strategy when leaving the vehicle (i.e. when the ignition key is removed) is as follows:- within two minutes of turning off the engine for three minutes;- for seven seconds when one door is closed (within three minutes). The timing ends automatically when the doors are locked. The operating strategy for the rear courtesy light depends on the key position as follows:- light comes on when the tailgate or sliding side doors are opened if the switch is in central position;- light comes on irrespective of whether tail-gate or sliding side doors are opened if the switch is set to the right;- the bulb is always off with the switch to the left.
The power supply to front courtesy light G10 reaches pin 2 through body computer M01.Body computer M01 manages the power supply and timing - from pins 23 and 21 of connector A respectively - through an operating strategy determined by input signals to connector A of the body computer from:- left front door lock gear motor switch N50, at pin 8;- right front door lock gear motor switch N51, at pin 25;The body computer M01 receives a supply controlled by the ignition and a direct supply at pin 11 of connector E and pin A of connector C respectively of under-dashboard junction unit B02.There is a proective fuse F1 for the direct power supply located in the engine compartment junction unit B01.Pins 8 and 9 of connector D of the body computer are earthed.A power supply leaves pin 33 connector A of the body computer for rear courtesy light G20 - pin 2 - through a line protected by fuse F39 of under-dashboard junction unit B02.This line also supplies boot courtesy light G40.Pin 3 of rear courtesy light G20 is connected to the switch on the rear door flap I21 (boot opening switch I11, in the version with up and over door) and to the switches on sliding side doors D196 and D197, through with they receive earth signals upon the opening of the side-hinged door/tailgate or side doors. Both courtesy lights are earthed through pin 1.
