The Trip Computer shows vehicle trip, consumption and mileage details on the control panel display. On versions with a COMFORT panel, two types of fully independent Trip Computer modes (A and B) are available for the Comfort panel. The displays can be activated by pressing the TRIP button on the right steering wheel stalk switch.Only the Trip A mode is available for the MODAL and STRIP panels.Instantaneous consumption cannot be displayed on the STRIP panel. On these last two versions, the display can be activated by pressing the key on the right steering wheel stalk (MODALE) or directly on the control panel (STRIP).For the STRIP panel, used only for the Natural Power - 1596 16V BPW version, mean fuel consumption is calculated only for petrol fuel consumption. The data display mode follows a preset order:TRIP A:- Range [km] or [miles]:- Distance travelled [km] or [miles]:- Average fuel consumption [Km/l]- Instant consumption [l/100 km] or [mpg]:- Average speed [km/h] or [mph] :- Journey time [hh:mm] :TRIP B (COMFORT version only)- Distance travelled [km] or [miles]:- Average fuel consumption [Km/l]- Average speed [km/h] or [mph] :- Journey time [hh:mm] :These values are available due to instantaneous mileage, fuel level and fuel tank capacity information received and managed by the body computepr, instantaneous fuel consumption information received by the engine management control unit and, lastly, the journey time managed by an internal clock. All information appears individually in the displayThe TRIP key (stalk or instrument panel) can be used to zero the parameter on view at that time and also to move on to the next parameter. The two keys to the right of the panel can also be used to adjsut the time shown on the display. The STRIP version includes only one adjustment key.The wiring diagram describes the operation of the signals used to display the Trip Computer data. For more details,
An ignition operated power supply (INT) from instrument E50 reaches pin 1 of connector A through body computer M01, pin 31 connector F, from a line protected by fuse F37 of under-dashboard junction unit B02.Instrument E50 is also supplied directly from the battery - pin 3 of connector A - (for Natural Power version - 1596 16V BPW - pin 2 of connector A) via the body computer, pin 3 of connector D, from a line protected by fuse F53 contained in under-dashboard junction unit B02.Body computer M01 and control panel E50 communicate with one another to exchange information on the correct operation of the devices present in the vehicle respectively from pins 5 and 6 of connector D and pins 9 and 8 of connector A (for the Natural Power version - 1596 16V BPW - pins 3 and 4 of connector A).The instrument panel is also earthed via the body computer, from pin 2 connector A (for the Natural Power version - 1596 16V BPW - pin 7 of connector A).Body computer M01 receives and processes a set of signals:- fuel quantity from the level gauge built into fuel pump N40, pins 4 and 15 connector A;- vehicle speed from speedometer sensor K84, pin 17 connector C.The zero or scroll command for values shown on the multifunctional display reaches pin 4 connector A of instrument panel E50 from steering wheel stalk unit H05, pin 1 connector C.For the Natural Power - 1596 16V BPW version - the parameter scroll key is located on the panel.
